Regents Street, Leeds

The Regents Street project in Leeds is a 10 storey concrete frame offering 185 residential units. Working for Clegg Construction this frame is scheduled to finish in November 2023, and despite the tight programme requirements will be complete on time and to budget.

The A45 infrastructure project for the new Bridge over the A45 consisted of bridge abutments, bases, culvert walls, backstays, upstand walls, headwalls, wingwalls, columns, parapets and retaining structures. Working for Buckingham Group on behalf of Coventry City Council, this £2.2m concrete package was a race against time to enable the main cantilever bridge sections to be placed.

Heart of the City, Block H, Sheffield

Our works on Blocks H2 and H3 in the Heart of the City, Sheffield completed in the Autumn of 2023. Working for Henry Boot Construction Ltd, the concrete framed structures will deliver a new music venue, meeting space and over 70,000 square meters of office/studio space. The slipformed cores were wrapped by Post Tensioned slabs and topped out in the summer of 2023.

Springwell Gardens, Leeds

Working for Morgan Sindall Construction, this 60 week build programme was completed in the summer of 2023. With the staggered roof design making it easily visible across the Leeds skyline, this £5.3m concrete package was completed in line with programme expectations.

Kangaroo Works, Sheffield

This project in the heart of Sheffield was completed in 2023 and consisted of 365 high quality 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments over 14 floors. Incorporating 4nr slipformed cores all with precast stairs/landings, this project for Henry Boot Construction has achieved several awards for its design and finish.

Our £6m concrete package was completed within the planned 56 week programme, with we were acknowledged for our collaborative approach at the topping our ceremony (see Kyle and Barry Johnson in the photo below, along with representatives form the Main Contractor, Architects and Clients alike).

Heart of the City, Sheffield – Blocks B and C

This £4.65m frame project for Galliford Try formed part of the Sheffield ‘Heart of the City’ regeneration project, and incorporated 2 main blocks. A tight site with original façade retention down one elevation, this project was successfully handed over in the summer of 2021 and incorporates fourteen premium retail units over an area of 16,000 square feet, over 3,000 square feet of premium A grade office space, 52 urban apartments and four town houses.

A45 Whitley South Bridge and Infrastructure Works, Coventry

Globe Point, Leeds

Carrying out the foundations, bases, ground floor slab, flood walls and cores, this 37,800 sq ft seven-storey office development on Globe Road, Leeds was completed in 2023 for BAM Construction Ltd.

Bridgewater Wharf, Salford, Manchester

Completed in 2021, the Bridgewater Wharf Project on the banks of the river Irwell in Salford accounts for 6 separate, but interlinked, 10 story residential blocks. Each block having its own ‘slipformed’ core and basement parking. This £12.5m frame package was completed 3 weeks earlier than the programmed 64 week programme, for Beaumont Morgan Developments Ltd.

David Ashley Construction – New headquarters, Somercotes, Derbyshire

2020 saw the completion of our new Headquarters, providing state of the art office and meeting room space. Feel free to come and visit us at any time !!

Grapnel Apartments – Furness Quay, Manchester

This £5.5m concrete frame was completed in June 2020 for Beaumont Morgan Developments and consisted of 13 floors. The cores were formed using slipform in order to benefit programme and the project was delivered on time and budget.

Royce Discovery Centre, Sheffield

Completed in early 2020, this Sheffield Hallam University project was carried out for Henry Boot Ltd and required intricate planning to accommodate the tight, city centre project.

Chatham Street, Sheffield

Completed in 2020 for Broadfield Construction Ltd, the residential block consisted of 9 floors and 2nr slipform cores on the outskirts of the city. Completed on to programme and came under on budget due to some value engineering proposals agreed with the designer/client.

Northill Apartments – Salford Quays

This 27 storey residential development is a £6m project working for Beamont Morgan Developments Ltd in the heart of Salford Quays, Manchester.Commenced in August 2018 on a 65 week programme, we have taken the core up by slipform to level 28 and bringing the surrounding floor levels up thereafter. Completed January 2020.

A45 Bridge – Coventry

Completed in August 2020 for Buckingham Group, this project involved all works relating to the new Bridge crossing the A45 in Coventry, a secondary bridge spanning the adjacent River Sowe, and culverts to redirect the river. A prolonged Programme (as required by the client) saw us provide a vast number of variations in addition to the initial scope, and upon completion received high accolade from Buckingham Group for our quality of work and proactive approach to what is a significant project for the City of Coventry.

Adelphi Wharf, Manchester – Phase 2/3

This 9 storey residential project for Beaumont Morgan Developments covers 4 main, interlinking blocks and carrying 163nr residential apartments in total.
Final Account agreed at £11m and works completed in August 2018.

Goldsmith Street, Nottingham

This 4 storey concrete frame is a Nottingham Trent University (NUT) project working for GF Tomlinson Ltd.

This city centre site had zero lay down and no access to three sides, with intermittent access from the other. Meticulous planning and phasing was required in order to deliver the project on time. Works completed in August 2018.

The Confetti Building, Nottingham

Working for Stepnell Ltd, this £1.1m concrete frame provided the basis for 6 storey’s of University Working space for the Nottingham Trent University (NTU). Located centrally in the city and being built right upto existing buildings provided many challenges. This 35 week project was delivered on time and to budget.

Upon completion of our works we received acclaim from Mark Preite of the NTU for our professionalism and our services stating:

Adelphi Wharf, Manchester

Phase 1 of this project started in April 2016 and completed in May 2017. This £6.25m residential project provided 320 apartments over 3 interlinked blocks.

Using waterproof Concrete in the basement to this riverside project, the contract was delivered on time and on budget, much to the appreciation of the client, Beaumont Morgan Developments Ltd.

Phase 2/3 of this project is now underway with a value to David Ashley Construction Ltd of over £10m and due for completion in May 2018.

Sense Touchbase, Selly Oak, Birmingham

This project for Stepnell Construction Ltd was completed in the summer of 2016 and attached a contract value of £1.4m.

The three storey frame and associated groundworks were carried out by ourselves within programme and is a great example of the high level of finish we can achieve (most of the soffits were exposed).

Wolverhampton University

This Science Technology Building for Clegg Construction Ltd took advantage of our early design input and as a result shaved weeks off the initial construction programme.

Completed in September 16, the building is being considered for numerous awards for both design and workmanship.

De Montford University, Leicester – Balfour Beatty

David Ashley Construction Ltd. supplied concrete, rebar, formwork and falsework as well as supply of cranage and pumps. This University learning block was carried out for Balfour Beatty over a 36 week programme. See examples of large raked columns.

Tram Project – Nottingham

Working for Vinci on this demanding scheme presented many challenges, all of which were overcome to successfully deliver the three main structures. With a subcontract value of over £2m, this project used a diverse range of formwork, falsework and cranage which all ensured the scheme met the high standards of the client.

Consisting of several junction bridges and ovepasses along a 20 mile stretch of the new A46 Newark to Widmerpool Highway. Working for Balfour Beatty (for the Highways Agency) with a £2+m subcontract value, the project was successfully handed over and met the tight demands of the highway programme.
